Litex Membrane Board
Litex Membrane Boards are waterproof and vapor resistant, so they can be tiled over directly, cutting down on installation time and giving you peace of mind without having to add extra waterproofing. The boards come in a variety of thicknesses and configurations.
Litex is also lightweight and can be cut with a regular utility knife, making it easy to build custom showers, bathtubs, counters, countertops, and vanity units in a fraction of the time it does using traditional building materials.
For walls and floors
Litex Membrane Boards can be used both on walls and on the floor for a complete water and steam proof system for the wetroom.
On the wall, the boards with a thickness of 20 mm or more can be mounted directly on timber c / c 60 cm. Litex boards have excellent insulation properties, holding heat in the room.
The boards can be mounted directly on substrates such as wooden floors, cement boards, block work and concrete. Litex floor boards require full support and the subfloor must be stable. Litex Membrane Boards cannot be mounted directly on floor joists.

Heating cables up to 10W per meter can be mounted directly on top of the membrane boards.
Heating cables over 10W per meter must be fitted on a reinforced mesh that raises the cable a minimum of 5 mm off the membrane boards.
All heating cables must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. For heat distribution, Litex recommends using a water resistant screed at least 20 mm thick.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Porous screeds must be covered with a waterproof membrane before tiling.
Tips
- 1On substrates of wood, the boards are mounted at a distance of 2-5 mm from the wall. Use Litex screws and mounting discs to fasten the boards to the subfloor.
- 2On concrete substrates, the membrane boards are glued to the surface with flexible tile adhesive. Remember to prime the surface for optimal adhesion.
- 3When installing the drain, you should wait about 20 minutes before pressing down the clamp ring and attaching it. That way, you make sure the drain is securly fasten to the membrane board.
- 4It is also possible to use water based underfloor heating systems with Litex Membrane boards.
